Day 4-Mamak/China Town-12/29/2017

Mamak is an award winning Malaysian restaurant, with branches in Sydney and Melbourne. Named after the roadside stalls of Kuala Lumpur that peddle Indian Malay street food, Mamak is renown for authentic, bold and traditional flavors, with smart and friendly service.

Mamak is really close to our hotel and we passed so many times trying to get in for lunch but we always gave up as we did not want to stay in line for hours just for lunch.

This picture was taken one evening when we went by the restaurant and the line is always long no matter what...

This picture was taken another day around lunch time.. Line is long.

Today, we could not believe there is no line... These people are just sitting here waiting for the bus...

No line today! We are not even hungry but we are taking the opportunity to get in the restaurant without having to wait.

This is right a the entrance of the restaurant.  There is a huge grill to make the roti.

Waiting for the host to show us our table.

The restaurant is narrow and very long and fairly small.

We ordered the famous Roti Canai (savory) on the left served with 2 curry dips and Sambal sauce, and on the right is the sweet roti with ice cream.

Close look at the Roti Canai. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

I have a sweet spot for Roti Canai and this one is really delicious.

We did not order much as we are not that hungry yet and we have dinner reservation tonight so this is just a light snack.

Glad we came here to try out Mamak but I definitely will not stay in line for hours to eat this.

From Mamak we are headed to China town which is only a few steps away.

At night time they have the night food market and there are a lot of stalls....

Japanese street food stall.

Indian food.

Grilled corn, and grilled banana cake wrapped if leaves.

This one looks so good! Crispy pork belly in a steamed bun.

Lots of people walking around China Town.
