Bahamas Reunion  - 7/7/07

The food

I am in the kitchen putting the last touch on the sauce before serving dinner!

Dinner is served!

Tonight the theme and atmosphere is the Bahamas but the food is casual French Bistro!  Why French? simply because I can cook it and it is actually pretty good and beside I would not know how to tackle Bahamian food.

We have sweet corn and asparagus sautéed in garlic and Butter

Assorted mixed green in classic French vinaigrette.

Oven roasted leg of Lamb with lots of Garlic, Chicken Tarragon with mustard and cream sauce, Beef Bourguignon and Rice O'roni with mushrooms.

Thuy and the kids staying in line to get the food...

Duy, Tuan, Phuc, Dung and Vu Be sitting down for dinner.

The evening was a bit chilly so Hoa had to bring out the small table heater. That's California!  No matter how hot it is in the day, there is always a little chill in the air in the evening.

Ryan, Spencer and Kai starting their meal.  The others kids are still playing outside so Hoa had to go out and fetch them.  Once they back, they did not lose any time attacking the food!

You know about teenagers and food, especially when they are hungry!

Most of the food was gone by the time the boys had their dinner!

This group has a very good appetite and that's why it is fun to cook for!

And of course the evening ended with a game of Texas Hold'm.
