Starters...

Warning! do not look at these pictures on an empty stomach.  But if you decide against my advice, make sure to have a napkin on hand!  Your saliva glands are going to be working over time. 

At Doan's suggestion we ordered 8 different starters to share!  This is a great way to sample everything.

O.k. are you ready?  Let's start the journey!

Fontina Valle D'aosta Ravioli with Fresh Spring Peas and David's bacon

Pan Seared Sonoma Artisan Foie Gras with Honey Walnut, Kumquat Marmalade, whole grain & Seed tartine, Mariquita Farm Fennel

 

Mediterranean Rouget with Prawn & Basil Fitter, Marquita Farms Baby leeks, Italian Butterbeans.

 

 

 

Monterey Red Abalone with Potato Gnocchi, Guanciale (unsmoked Italian bacon) Caper Lemon Butter

California Squab Breast with Pancetta & Asiago Stuffed Mushrooms, Squab bolognese

 

 

Stuffed Monterey Calamari with Lobster Panzanella (Panzanella is a refreshing Tuscan summer bread salad), Lobster sauce, Greens, Aioli

Day boat Sea Scallops with crispy Fingerling Potatoes, Wine cap Mushrooms .

 

 

 

 

Ahi Tuna Tartare with toasted Sesame, Enoki Mushrooms, Scallions, Wasabi Tobiko (fish row).

This dish is also very good, the Tuna is so tasty.   We were debating if there was mayonnaise in this dish.

Overall the starters were outstanding!  There isn't a single dish we did not like.  Like Hoa said all the dishes were marinated to perfection!

So far we were very impressed with all the first course.
