Montmorency waterfalls Park- 9/24/2019

We are now walking around the park following signs leading to the Waterfall but from a different view.

The park is really well maintained and it is so relaxing walking around..
As you can see there are not a lot of people visiting the park at this hour of the day.

There are a few more smaller waterfalls in the park.

This is the same waterfall but from a different angle (we were on top of it when we got there first).

Here you can see how tall the waterfall is.

Again the height of the waterfall is 272 feet.

Simply magnificent!

You can see Quebec City in the distance.

You can actually go all the way down to the bottom of the waterfall but the stairs were closed as it was raining and too windy making it too dangerous to go down.

Montmorency Falls, named in 1613 by Samuel de Champlain in honor of his patron the Duke of Montmorency, is now one of the top attractions in the province of Quebec. The Montmorency Falls area has an interesting history as this was also the site of the Battle of Montmorency which took place between the French and the English in 1759. As well, in 1885 the first hydroelectric power plant was established here and Québec City became one of the first municipalities to use hydroelectric power.

By the time we got back to the parking lot, a bunch of buses are pulling in the park.

Lots and lots of tourists are getting off the bus, we were lucky to be early and we had the park just ourselves.
