Arrival in Tokyo-3/31/2017

From Narita airport we took the train express to Tokyo.  Train was very nice and so clean.

It took about 45 minutes to arrive to Ueno station from Narita.

From Ueno station, we took the subway to get to our hotel.
We stayed at the Red planet hotel located close to Asakusa station.

Akihabara Electric Town

After resting a bit we took a taxi to Akihabara area, the mecca of Electronic goods.

Akihabara is dubbed "Akihabara Electric Town" shortly after World War II for being a major shopping center for household electronic goods and the post-war black market. Akihabara is now considered to be the cultural center and a shopping district for video games, anime, manga, and computer goods. Icons from popular anime and manga are displayed prominently on the shops in the area, and numerous maid cafés are found throughout the district but we never got the chance to stop by one.

The neighborhood is very lively with lots o neon lights.

Yodobashi Akiba is a nine-story mega complex and is the largest electronics shop in Tokyo.

It also houses the most incredible collection of gadgets, plastic models and other geeky goods you can image.

The entrance of the store... Lots of people!

This is the fist floor and you can find PC's, mobile phone & Apple products.

Dinner

Maily and Tuan recommended Daime Yazaemon, an Izakaya located next to the Electronic store but we still had a hard finding it as we did not realized it was on the 4th floor of a building adjacent. The restaurant specialized in Tuna, direct from the Misaki port (a famous port for Tuna fish).

We did not have reservation and they were booked so we asked if we could wait until a table become available.  The manager(seen in this picture) told us it will be around 30 minutes so we decided to wait. Fortunately, we did not have to wait more than 10/15 minutes to get a table.

We were seated in a private which Hoa does really like because we can't see anything but we were happy they gave it to us.

Cold Beer

Assorted Sashimi

So fresh and so delicious!

Seared Tuna- this is one of their signature dish and it turned out to be the best dish of the evening.

Cold Soba Noodle served with some type of soy sauce-not sure if it is home made or not but it is really delicious.

This is the general manager of the store.  Really nice guy!

Cold sake

Agadashi Tofu

Fried chicken with mayonnaise and green salad.

Huge piece of grilled Tuna Kama (collar meat).   Really meaty and delicious.

Cooked marinated octopus in dashi sauce.

Maily recommended to order the Omasake menu but I did not remember so we just ordered what was on the menu.  We found the restaurant to be okay with nothing special, good service, and reasonably priced.
