Japanese Dinner
We stumbled on this restaurant along one of the small alleys. All the signs are written in Japanese so we don't know the name of the restaurant.
We took a peak inside and we decided to dine here.
The waitress gave us a place at the bar.
Beer for Hoa and water for me.
Good thing they have a menu in English so we picked the 8 dishes set including the Noto beef stone grilled.
On the left is a bunch of empty Yamazaki 12 years old whiskey.
View of the counter in front out us and the kitchen in the back.
Drinks menu which we cannot read.
The dinning room is fairly small but they have so many bottles of whiskey against the wall.
Bottles of Whiskey on display
More Whiskey on display against the wall.
First course is an assortment of sashimi
Tuna, Hamachi, Shrimp, and some white fresh sashimi (I don't know the name)
They also put gold leaves to make it look pretty and luxurious.
Sake for Hoa
The next course is a trio of dishes: Salad, Fried shrimps, and Hamachi
Mixed Japanese salad.
Fried shrimps and salad.
I think this is Hamachi. It was very good.
I also like the sauce.
Broiled black Cod with Miso
The cod is buttery and it just melted in our mouth.
Assorted crispy tempura.
Noto beef (Japanese black cattle) is
characterized by its high-quality fat containing a high ratio of oleic acid,
which creates tenderness and aroma
Grilling the beef on a hot stone
It was really fun grilling the beef on our own and we also really enjoyed the tasty pieces of beef.
The last course is pressed Unagi (eel) sushi served with a vegetable soup.
It called Oshizuhi Unagi in Japanese. This is really well made and so tasty but we were so full that we could not finish it.
After dinner our waitress bit us goodbye by accompanying us out to the front door and she bowed to us until she can no longer see us.
