Dinner

I lost count but I think we had 15 or 16 kids tonight!  Hoa decided to set up the tables for the kids in our backyard and he also set up a few heaters for them just in case the weather is too cold.

On the menu for the kids I made two trays of  penne, with Italian sausage, roasted eggplant in a tomato basil sauce and a tray of crepes with ham, mushrooms in a Béchamel sauce.

Desserts

I usually make at least 2 or desserts but unfortunately I did not have enough time to bake but I still managed to make a sticky rice with mango and at the last minute I put up a chocolate fountain.  I also bought a 3 layers chocolate cake and Maily baked a coconut cake.  So in the end we had a fair amount of sweets to go around.

The kids enjoyed this because they are making it themselves by dipping the strawberries is the melted chocolate fountain.

It is actually fun to dip the fruits in the chocolate.

Close up at the chocolate fountain.

Love this picture of Andrew eating his strawberry dipped in chocolate!

It was a good decision to set up the chocolate fountain.  All the kids really like it!

I am cutting the coconut cake made by Maily into small portion.

More kids are coming in the room to get desserts...

Of course we ended the evening with a game of Texas hold'm for the guys and for the non-poker player we gathered around a small table for lots of conversation over coffee, tea and dessert.

Overall, it was a successful evening filled with good food, great wine, good conversation, good company and also full of laughter!

Until the next party.....
