Celebrating Huyen's Birthday-11/3/2024

 It is Huyen's birthday and I wanted to have everyone over for a nice and cozy dinner, so we all can celebrate together. 

Fall is here and I wanted the table to represent the colors of fall.

 

I chose warm colors with lots of orange, brown, and yellow to decorate the table.

 

I was going to do family style dinner so I only use a few samll centerpieces so I have room to serve the dishes.  In the end I decided to do individual platting but since the decoration is already done I just left it as is.

Table is done and we are ready to receive our guests for the evening.

 

A few of our friends could not make it so tonight we are having 12 people. Cheers!

 

First course is an asparagus Vichychoise served with an endive, beet salad with devil egg.

 

I am in the kitchen platting the second course with the help of Yesi.

 

Second course: Salmon Poke, Avocado salsa, crunchy wasabi peas, and  fried wonton.

 

We all love this dish.  So flavorful and very delicious.

 

Third course is an assortment of pates, Foie gras, homemade pork rillette, pickles vegetables and mostarda.

The frog legs are pan seared, butter, garlic, and parsley are added later.  Platting the roasted cauliflower, peppers and frog legs.

 

Frog leg a la provencale with roasted pepper, cauliflower in a bagna cauda sauce.

 

Plating the 5th and final course.

 

Spaghetti, Italian sausage, roasted tomatoes, grilled squid tentacles.
