Walden West Outdoor School- 9/04

Walden West Outdoor School is an outdoor science program for sixth grade students.  During field class, students study the forest, meadows, and streams with a qualified naturalist.  The goal is to have children see the interrelationships between plants and animals and learn about the affect they as people have on the environment. This is a 5 days  program, kids stayed overnight at Walden West Camp.  Children are living 24 hours a day with other students and requires kids to cooperate and work together with others toward common goals.  For this trip all of the 6th graders at Loyola and Oak merged as a group and because they are together 24 hours a day, friendships are made during the program and may last a lifetime.
