Visit from the Berger 11/4/09 - 11/9/09
My Aunt Kim, Uncle Larry, Jason, and Nancy are in town and they are staying with us for a few days. Jason and Nancy are bringing Sam, they 4 months old son so we can meet him.
Here is Sam! He is so cute and he is such a good baby! he is always smiling and such a happy baby! |
Uncle Larry and Auntie Kim having dinner. |
I am serving a Bun Tom Thit Nuong, a simple Vietnamese dish consisting of cold rice vermicelli mixed with fresh vegetables and topped with grilled shrimp, beef, calamari, and pork balls. You roll all the ingredients and then dipped it in Nuoc Mam sauce. It is a very good, light, and healthy dish.

Jason, Nancy and Sam.
Taking turn caring Sam around..
This is the 1st dinner I served kung Pow chicken and steamed striped bass with soy sauce and ginger. |
Rau Muong sao (sautéed Vietnamese spinach) is one of Uncle Larry 's favorite plate. |
This is the last dinner with the Berger. I served a large bowl of mixed salad with the last figs of the season, Crab cakes, and chicken cacciatore with butter noodles. |
Here is my salad plate with crab cake and a home made popover. |
The crab cakes were excellent! |
Here I am removing the popovers from their molds and putting them into a basket. |
This is the 1st time I am making the popovers and they are so good so I will make them again. The only draw back is I can only make 12 at the time! |
All of us having dinner! |
