Rich Table, San Francisco-3/26/2022

The restaurant The food

Rich Table is located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood in San Francisco.   The restaurant is owned by husband and wife, Chefs Evan and Sarah Rich.  Both chefs honed their skills at renowned restaurants as Michael Mina and Coi and have deeply rooted connections with the region’s best farms and food purveyors.  These close relationships with local growers are reflected on the menu and their modern-rustic, casual, intimate, and relaxed 60-seats restaurant.

Rich table opened their door in 2012 and quickly amassed a cult following and is San Francisco's favorite places to eat and also toughest to book.  I was never able to get a table pre-Covid time.

Rich Table was awarded a 1 Michelin star in 2018 and 2019 but because of Covid the restaurant totally shut down in 2020 and therefore did not qualify to be on the Michelin star in 2021.  However, I am sure they will get back their star in 2022.

Our reservation was at 5:30PM and our table is a the far end of the room facing the kitchen.

The dinning room is simply decked with a light-and-dark color scheme along with distressed wood, the room features a laid-back style and rustic-chic farmhouse vibe.

The Bar

The restaurant is booked out far in advance, so arrive early to score a seat at the bar if you are dropping in without a reservation.

The restaurant is packed daily and reservation is a must.  I made mine a month ahead and the only time available for a table of 8 is at 5:30pm.

As you see, we were the first few customers to arrive,  Guests are trickling and waiting to be seated.

Family style menu is served for party of 6 to 8 people.  We were shocked to find out that what ever so see on the menu are all the dishes that will be served to our table tonight.

7 appetizers, 2 pastas, and 3 main course (beef, fish, and pork) + 4 different type of desserts.  The amount of dishes we got was insane and the price is so reasonable at $95/person.
