Ernest, San Francisco-08/29/2021
The restaurant | The food |
Kevin and Kristie are inviting us for dinner at Ernest, a new restaurant located in the Mission district in San Francisco and opened since March 2021.
Chef Brando Rice, formerly served as chef de cuisine for over five years at Rich Table (a 1 Michelin Star restaurant in SF). Ernest is his first solo project and named after his grandfather.
Chef Rice usues local produce but the flavors have a wordly influence, stretching every continent and draws inspiration from his international travels with his family while growing up.
It is really difficult to get a reservation but Kristie was able to get a table for us at 5:00PM. We arrived a few minutes early and we had to wait outside until they open their door.
The door is now open and we are staying in line to walk in the restaurant.

There are a lot people staying in line...
Once inside the gate, we had to show our vaccination card and our ID to get in.
No mask no entry, no vaccination card no entry to the restaurant neither.
The first thing you see when you walk in the restaurant is the bar.
The 9-seat bar area welcomes guests near the entrance, while the dining area and kitchen occupying the upper level.
