Kevin's 18th birthday - Dinner at Mastro's- 10/15/11
Hoa and I we drove to Irvine to celebrate Kevin's 18th birthday!
Kevin decided to go back to Mastro's steakhouse located in Costa Mesa. Mastro's is listed as one of the top 10 steakhouse in US by Gayot. Founded by the Mastro family in 1999 and quickly became a stylish gathering place for outstanding steaks, a combination of world-class service, highly acclaimed cuisine, live entertainment in an elegant yet energetic atmosphere with a live band and dancing.

The Menu at Mastro's
Appetizers
We decided to order 3 appetizers to share among us.

Beefsteak tomato and mozzarella drizzle with olive oil, basil oil, and balsamic vinegar was served on the side.

2 orders of crab cakes served on a bed of micro greens and remoulade sauce.

|
Ahi Tuna tartare served on bed of crush fried wonton (crispy and yummy) with avocado and drizzled with spicy aioli.
Out of the 3 appetizers this one is the best.
The steaks

Kevin and Vu ordered the 22oz (1-1/2 pound) bone in rib-eye!
Big Portion but Kevin and Vu did not have a problem finishing their steaks.

Hoa and I we shared a "Chef's cut" 33 oz rib eye chop. |

We tried our best to finish the steak but 33 oz to share between the 2 of us was still too much. |

This is an order of French fries. Portion are gigantic and are meant to be shared. |
