Day 6- Crate cafe and Lunch -6/1/2024

After Breakfast, we are heading to Canggu.

Pretty amazing that the dog can stand on the back of motorcycle while his owner is driving it.  This dog definitely has a good balance.  I am sure he is used to travel this way.

As we are walking in downtown Canggu, we discovered Crate Cafe that is one of those places that really captures the creative, laid-back energy of the neighborhood.

Too bad that we already breakfast, if not, I would definitely would eat here.

It opened in April 2014 and was founded by Nyoman and Maree with a clear mission: to build a community around great coffee, good food, and chill vibes. The café is very community-focused, and  their motto is “keep it simple and keep it consistent,” and they emphasize sourcing fresh, local ingredients.

The space feels very industrial-chic, lots of concrete, open air, big windows, and even furniture made from wooden crates.  It’s a popular hangout for a diverse crowd — surfers, digital nomads, expats, and families all mix here.

Lunch at Ramen Hamatora

For Lunch we went to Ramen Hamatora located on  Located on Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, right on the main street of downtown Canggu.

Ramen Hamatora is a cozy, modern ramen spot known for serving rich, Japanese-style noodle bowls with a clean, minimalist vibe. The atmosphere is usually warm and inviting, soft lighting, simple décor, and the comforting smell of broth simmering.

Ramen Hamatora in Canggu is a cozy old-school eatery serving up delicious ramen, fried chicken, and dumplings.

The interior offers a convivial vibe with its modern industrial design infused with Japanese elements.

Pork Gyoza for appetizer.

Chicken karaage

Creamy Shio Ramen with a rich prok bone broth.  This dish is their most popular dish on the menu.

Hoa had the Negi Ramen, know for its spicy flavor.

We are glad to stop here for lunch.  Their ramen tends to focus on deep, flavorful broths paired with springy noodles and toppings. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in with a steaming bowl and feel instantly satisfied, especially after a busy morning out in Canggu.
