CityCenter in Las Vegas -6/14/10
Day 2 - Jean Philippe Patisserie and Aria hotel
After Dinner we decided to walk over the CityCenter, described as the crown jewel of the 67-acre urban metropolis CityCenter, where the newest Aria Resort & Casino is located.
CityCenter is the newest area in Las Vegas and everyone is talking about how beautiful it is, so we decided to check it out. First stop is Jean-Philippe Patisserie. Jean Philippe shop is described as the unquestioned star of the Vegas pastry scene. Jean Philippe Maury is one of the youngest Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman) ever and captain of the championship-winning US Pastry Team. Now his croissants, muffins, granola, panini, crepes, chocolates, candies, etc.. are available at his own shop!
Jean Philippe Patisserie inside Aria Hotel. Brand new sign and the "S" from the word Patisserie is missing from it. I am sure they will fix it soon.
Here is a snap shot at the pastries display at Jean Philippe. I took us a long time to decide what we wanted because everything looks so good.
We picked a raspberry tart filled with pistachio cream on a bed or sable cookie. In the background a sweet brioche with Nutella is simple and delicious. Soft, tender bread with Nutella injected right in the middle. |
The flan is a fantastic deal at $3.95 a piece. It is huge and delicious! |
Here we are sitting down and enjoying our treat!
As you walk in the Aria hotel you will seea three-story lobby and natural light are complemented by the warm, intimate decor elements of reclaimed wood and native stone. The place feels really warm, relaxing and Zen like.
