Knight armor at the entrance. We find out it cost money to get so we skipped it and went directly to the Abbey
More stairs to climb to get to the abbey.

A lot of people rest here briefly after to see the nice scenery ...

The main street of the village wends its way to the monumental Grand Degré Exterior (Great outer Stairs) leading to the abbey gateway.
We are about half way up and this is looking down and realizing how high up we were...

|
To buy tickets to get in you have to go up to more stairs into this small door...
Which open up to huge and bright room. This is where you buy your tickets to get in abbey.

Plaster model of the archangel Michael. |

There are lots of renovation going on...
Repairs are being carried out to rectify problems with the infiltration of water around the bays in the Abbey church.

On top of the abbey is a sculpture of the Archangel Michael (you saw a plaster copy recently up above).
The spire of the church dates from the 19th century as well as the statue of St. Michael at the top.
This where we arrived earlier by bus but this is the view from up above.
