Madrid- Day 1 - Madrid at night

Mercardo De San Miguel

The market Mercado De San Miguel was named after the 13th century church, Iglesia de San Miguel de los Octoes that was once stood here. The church was demolished in 1809 then it became a fish market and finally a covered market with an iron frame and wood roof in 1916.

The market was revitalized and modernized in 2009 with floor to ceiling glass windows.  It is bright, open and has a very atmosphere.

The market is known to offer the best tapas in Madrid with moderate and affordable price and it is attracting a lot of people to this place.

Vendors inside the building sell a variety of items that range from fresh produce, desserts, seafood and meat. There are also small shops selling so many delicious prepared food from Spanish staples to international cuisine.

There are always lots of people inside the market no matter what time it is.

Lots of young people stopped by after work to have a drink while tasting some of the tapas.

The atmosphere is relax, casual, and friendly.
