Dinner

Time to sit down for dinner and enjoy a great 4 course meal specially cooked by executive chef Maily and sous chef Loan.  Let's start!

Course 1: Parsnip soup with crispy parsnip strips

The parsnip soup is very flavorful and the crispy parsnip strips add an interesting  welcoming crunch to the dish.

Parsnip is a root vegetable that  resemble the shape of a carrot but in it white in color and have a sweet taste, especially when cooked.  The parsnip soup is buttery, deep in flavor and has a natural sweetness to it.

Here is a close look of the dish.

Course 2: Lobster Russian Salad with Caviar

I never have Russian Salad before!  Basically, Russian salad is made with diced potatoes, vegetables, eggs, and ham and is dressed with mayonnaise.  Here Maily heighten the dish by adding cooked lobster and caviar.. Now, how decadent is this?

Russian salad reminds me of a French salad that is very popular called "Macedoine", which is a medley of cut finely cut vegetables or fruits mixed with mayonnaise.

This Russian salad is a lot fancier and very yummy.  How can you go wrong with lobster and caviar?

Third course: Roasted Butternut Squash Ravioli with a Sage Brown Butter

Originally Maily was planning to have Cavatelli but since they are impossible to find in local stores, she had to switch to roasted butternut squash ravioli!

I love the taste of roasted butternut squash Butternut squash because it is naturally sweet and has such a nice flavor. Here the roasted butternut squash ravioli is paired with chorizo (very flavorful) and served with brown butter and crispy sage.  The flavor is simply amazing!

Fourth course: Oxtail braised with chorizo served with kale and rice.

Braised Oxtail is the ultimate comfort food!  I can't stop eating this dish.

Although oxtails used to know as poor man’s meat, they are no longer as inexpensive as they used to be and they available in any major groceries store.  I am pretty sure Oxtails cost more because the Vietnamese buy them in bulk for Pho and so demand for them are much higher!  That's just my therory.

We ended the meal with this wonderful dish!  So flavorful and so satisfying... I love braised oxtails and I never get tired of eating them.
