The restaurant  3 course menu

3 course Menu

Amuse bouche, compliment of the house: Kohlrabi with green goddess dressing.

Nothing exceptional but it was fresh and the dressing was really tasty.

Course #1

WILD-CAUGHT HOKKAIDO SCALLOP CRUDO

PICKLED SERRANO CHILI, MEYER LEMON, YUZU VINAIGRETTE

I selected this dish.  The scallops are sweet with the smell of the ocean, the yuzu vinaigrette is lovely, and I also like a bit of heat from the pickled serrano.

You eat with your eyes first and this dish is definitely beautiful!

VEAL SWEETBREADD LYONNAISE

SOFT-POCHAED FRAM EGG, BACON LARDONS, WARM BROWN BUTTER VINAIGRETTE

Hoa selected this dish.  It is not very often that you see sweetbreads in the menu in California.  Definitely French dish and they nailed it. The sweetbread was crispy and take a look at the color of egg.  Simply delicious. The portion is also very generous.

This our first course.

Cheers!

Course 2

MAPLE-BRINED KUROBUTA PORK CHOP

GLAZED PINK LADY APPLES, CARAMELIZED CELERIAC, APPLE CIDER JUS

Again, the portion is incredibly generous!

One of best pork chops!  Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cook.

FENNEL AND CORIANDER-CRUSTED DUCK BREAST

PICKED RADICCHIO, FENNEL MARMALADE, HUCKBERRY JUS

I selected this dish and the flavor was on point.  Everything was good on this plate.

Course 3

Desserts course!

APPLE "PIE"

WHIPPED CREME FRAICHE, MAPLE-BOURBON ICE CREAM

Beautiful presentation and I also love this dessert!   The pie dough is like a butter cookie, crumbly, rich, and perfect with the roasted apples.

BEIGNETS

CHOCOLATE SAUCE, CREME ANGLAISE

Love donughts!

We always ordered coffee to go with our desserts.  There is nothing better than ending a meal with something sweet and piping hot cup of coffee.

At the end of our meal, our waiter served us a plate of pate de fruits and chocolate, compliment of the house.

The 3 course menu was $89 is pretty reasonable for a 1 Michelin restaurant.  The portions are very generous and we had to take some of our main dishes home as we could not finish it.  We have no complaint on the food, everything single dish was delicious, flavorful, and well presented.  However, we thought the service was pretty bad.  Not sure if it is because they can find help during Covid but our waiter barely came to our table to take care of us.  The bus boys on the other hand did a wonderful job!  They constantly refilled our water, and asked us if we need more bread, etc...

Overall, we like the food enough so we will be back and let's hope that service will be better.
