The restaurant  3 course menu

Spruce is a 1 Michelin star restaurant located in the Presidio Heights neighborhood.  They opened their doors in 2007 and has consistently received praise for their food and wine ever since

The cuisine is Contemporary American with classic French roots and the ingredients are mostly local with most produce coming from the restaurant's partner farm, SMIP Ranch in Woodside.

Spruce is named after the Street Spruce with it is near the restaurant.

Street view of Spruce.  This is the outdoor area and it is so pretty.  I am sure it was set up because of Covid but they did an excellent job as it looks like a garden.

Tables next to the big main window of the restaurant.

They have heaters so it is comfortable to eat outside.

Covered outdoor patio with lots and lots of tables.

Our reservation was for outdoor as indoor dining was not available at the time when I did my reservation.

We had a nice covered area with heater but we asked our waiter if we could eat inside instead.  He checked and he told us that they can accommodate our request for indoor dining.

We are now entering the restaurant...

As soon as you walk in there is a reception desk opening to a large dinning room on the left, and on the right a full bar area.

The restaurant used to be a 1930 auto Barn converted to a 5,000 square foot restaurant.  They sure did a wonderful job converting to a beautiful restaurant.

The bar-lounge area with bottles are organized by color and it looks fantastic.

View of the bar from our table in the dinning room. The main dinning room is separated by a floor to ceiling glass panel.

The 70 seat dining room are awash in black and browns, is really Elegant without being stuffy with white tablecloths, leather chairs, dark tones and the main dinning room is under a cathedral ceiling.

View of part of the dining room from our table.  There is another bar in the back of the room.

Here you can see part of the cathedral ceiling

This the bar in the back and it looks striking!

View of the entrance from our table with a glimmering Baccarat crystal chandelier that helps set up the stage for upscale dinning.

White linen tablecloths, silver flatware and crystal candle holder.

The menu and the only choice is a 3 course menu with lots of options to choose from.

They served brioche and sourdough bread with salted butter.

The brioche is so delicious, the sourdough is also good but I love brioche.

Spruce is known to have an extensive list of wine but Hoa brought his own bottle of wine.

Cheers!
