The Gathering Soldiers & Bailong elevator
The scenery at Soldiers Gathering is magnificent, and as the name suggests it resembles thousands of ‘soldiers’ blanketing the area as far as the eye can see.
There are 48 rocky stone pillars like soldiers
standing in the formation.
Another beautiful platform to take picture and enjoy the surrounding.
Here you see a lot of the sandstone pillars standing like soldiers.

Our tour guide asked us to find rocks that look like an animal.
Here is one that looks like a turtle.
We are now leaving the Gathering soldiers and passing by the Avatar
Hallelujah mountains.

We are getting close to famous peaks in the Avatar Hallelujah mountains
We already seen the Avatar mountains from another angle when we got in the park but this is a better and closer view of the area.
Since the movie Avatar got really popular, there are more than 20 million visitors here coming to see the famous peak.

In the center is the famous sandstone pillar in the movie Avatar.
You have to be standing next to these sandstone pillar to see how amazing and grandiose they are.

It is truly amazing how trees can grow on the edges of the cliff.
This is the most recognizable sandstone pillar is the Avatar Hallelujah Mountain standing at 3,540 ft. tall.
It used to be called the Southern Sky column but it was renamed the Avatar Hallelujah pillar.
We are continuing our descent.

The entrance of the Bailong Elevator is nestled within the stunning Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
We are inside the Bailong elevator, also known as the Hundred Dragons
Elevator, is a marvel of modern engineering. This incredible glass elevator
offers an unparalleled experience of the region's breathtaking sandstone
pillars and lush landscapes.

We are now off the elevator and going trough a tunnel to get out.

The Bailong Elevator was opened to the public in 2002. At 1,070 ft., it is the world's tallest outdoor lift. It can transport visitors to the top from its foot in less than two minutes. The structure is composed of three separate glass elevators, each of which can carry up to 50 people at a time

So glad we had a chance to visit Zhangjiajie.
We are now taking the shuttle bus to take us back.
