Trip to Las Vegas trip & Irvine- 10/11/12 - 10/14/12

We decided to order a la carte instead of the chef's menu! We are simply trying to watch our girlie figure!

A complimentary basket of house-baked breads stocked with an assortment of bread was brought out with a dish with two different pats of butter, one traditional, the other with brown butter. The brown butter was nutty and delicious!

Since we did not want to eat a lot we ordered 3 appetizers to share between the four of us.

Charcuterie Sampler: San Daniel secolo prosciutto, Italian rosemary cotton ham, and assorted dried sausages.

I usually don't order cold cuts but Hoa enjoyed the different type of meat and I have to say they were pretty tasty!

I have to say the portion was rather generous but we manage to eat the whole thing.

Our waiter recommended this dish and we all thought that the potato Gnocchi has a special texture that is very delectable.

I selected the Colorado Lamb Loin with pomme Anna, Stuffed piquillo peppers, and herb Salad.

I like my meat on the rare side and it was cooked to my preference. The lamb loin is the most tender chops on the lamb and every bite just melted in my mouth!

Minh, Loan, and Hoa decided to order two boneless rib-eye (12 ounces each) to be shared among the 3 of them

The rib eyes were served with Peppercorn sauce and Bordelaise Sauce.

Crispy French fries-they were crispy and very very delicious!

A few glasses of wine for Hoa and Minh to go with dinner.

After dinner I asked our waiter what was upstairs and he told me to check it out.

Going up are white stairs leading to a private dining room with tables for large parties.

On the ceiling are hand blown silver pod lamp shades.

After dinner we were just talking about our experience at MiX and we all agreed that it was a very enjoyable meal. The food was good, our waiter was professional, courteous, and friendly, and the view was just fantastic!

The only complaint is that for some reason the acoustic was pretty bad. We had a tough time hearing each other and we kept asking our waiter to repeat what he was saying...

I am just guessing that the sound wave was somehow distorted because of the high ceiling but then again who knows why!

After dinner we asked out waiter to use the bathroom but he told us to try out the one located at the end of bar and to trust him and we will thank him later....

The bathroom is totally dark, with a single light shinning down over the toilet bowl, other than that the room is in complete darkness. As you open the door you will be surprised to see the glittering lights of the city.

It is a bit freaky, terrifying to take care of business in such an open space but it is also awesome sitting there. I had the impression that people can watch but I know that is impossible because the windows are one way, so no one can see in...

The toilet bowls face backward, looking out at the glass windows from floor-to-ceiling so when you're sitting there doing your business, you're looking out over the beautiful Vegas Strip.

It was difficult to take a picture because of the glare from the windows. You can see Loan and I but we were actually in the back of the room, behind the toilet bowl.

Loan and I we were very impress as we have never seen anything like this before!
