Day 3-Stroll in New York city-2/8/2022

The Rink at Rockefeller Center is located between 50th and 49th street.

The Rink, or "skating pond" as it was first known, officially opened on Christmas Day in 1936.

Originally planned as a temporary exhibit, The Rink was so popular it became a permanent addition with the Prometheus Statue and the Christmas's Tree providing one of the most familiar backdrops in the world.

We are now on 49th street.

Observation deck located on located on 30 Rockefeller Plaza on 6th Avenue between 49th and 50th street.

The Top of the Rock Observation Deck has quickly become one of New York City’s must-see attractions. Located in the heart of Manhattan atop the famous “30 Rock” building in Rockefeller Center, the Top of the Rock features 3 floors of observatories and perhaps the best views in the city!

Art Deco Nudes by Leo Friedlander above the 49th street entrance to 30 Rock.

Rockefeller hated the nudes so much that he refused to enter the building through those doors.  However, he never ordered the sculptures to be removed.  He saw art as a public service

Apple store on 5th Avenue

The store is considered one of several Apple flagship locations, and the pre-eminent store for Apple in New York City.  Known for its exposed exterior in a transparent 32ft cube in the middle of the plaza.

The Plaza hotel on 5th avenue is a luxury hotel and condominium apartment building in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It is located on the western side of Grand Army Plaza, after which it is named, just west of Fifth Avenue, and is between 58th Street and Central Park South (a.k.a. 59th Street), at the southeastern corner of Central Park.
