Day 1: Arrival and Dinner at Korean BBQ-5/17/23

Our flight from Shanghai to Seoul is about 2 hours and we were happy that it is so close to Shanghai.

Did my research and the best area to stay in Seoul is Myengdong because it is located in the center and convenient to go to all the main attractions.

We asked for a recommendation for a Korean BBQ restaurant and we told there is a really nice restaurant about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

We had to asked around to find the restaurant but we found it.  Not a word of English so I do not know the name of the restaurant.

Our waitress understood a bit of English and she recommended to order 2 portions of the beef premium chuck.

The grill is ready and banchan are brought out.

Banchan (side dishes).

Cheers!

Waiting for our waitress to bring out the meet.

Our waitress grilled all the meat for us.

Gyeranjjim (Korean steamed eggs) is a savory egg custard dish.  This is probably one of the best steamed eggs we have eaten.

We also ordered a bibimbap which is a large bowl of rice topped with an array of individually prepared vegetables and beef served with gochujang sauce.

Bibim means mixing, and bap means rice.

Our waitress mixed the rice for us.

We ate everything!

Cheers to our first day in Seoul!
