Online Ceremony
Thanks to an executive order issued by California Governor Gavin Newsom on April 30, 2020, California residents are now able to obtain marriage licenses virtual, rather than in-person. "NEW: CA will now allow adults to obtain marriage licenses via videoconferencing for the next 60 days," Newsom tweeted.
Requirements for online marriage services:
Reliable, high-speed internet access
MS Teams software (including audio AND visual capabilities (i.e., microphone, speakers, webcam)
All checked and ready to go.
Getting started and talking to the County Clerk
Marriages are performed by County employees deputized specifically for this purpose.
Swearing in front of the County clerk.
Hoa and Nicole are the witnesses
