Fried oysters - 11/02/09

At the Asian market they sell fresh shucked oysters in a jar.  I have seen them a bunch of time and decided to give them a try so I bough a jar (there are about 7/8 oysters in a jar) and tried to fried them.  The oysters turned out to be acceptable.  They not as great as fresh and still in a shell but since I wanted to fry them, this is absolutely perfect.

The oysters are breaded with a mixture of flour, water, seasonings and panko bread crumbs

Close look at the fried oysters.  I served them with a homemade aioli.

Preparation work..

Mixing flour, water and seasonings in a bowl

Dipping the oyster inside the mixture.

Sprinkling some panko bread crumbs on top of the oysters.

Next, the oysters are deep fried.

Removing the oysters once they are golden brown (only a few minutes).
