Sticky Toffee Pudding revisited-11/14/09
Sticky pudding is an addictive dessert because the cake is moist, flavored with sweet dates, and the sauce is served warmed against a contrast of cold whipped cream or ice cream. This dessert is decadent and once you taste it you will also want more.... Sticky Toffee Pudding is a traditional British dessert and I never had it until I came to the U.S. and once I tried it, I was hooked.
In this version of sticky pudding I am enclosing the recipe and I am also showing you how to make the sauce.
Platting the dessert. Here I am topping the dessert with a scoop of cold whipped cream.

Preparation work..
Ingredients |
For the cake 6 ounces dates, pitted and roughly chopped 1 1/4 cup of water 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs |
For the sauce 1 cup light brown sugar 3 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butte 1/2 cup half and half 1/2 teaspoon brandy 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup cold heavy cream

The dates are chopped into small pieces. |
Next they are placed in a pot with water and bring to a boil. |
Baking soda is added to the boiling mixture causing it to foam. |
The butter is creamed first and then sugar and eggs are added and then beaten. |
Flour and the date mixture is added then mixed together |
Once it is mix together the dough is then poured into a baking mold. |

Here I am platting the dessert by putting a piece a cake in the middle of a plate and then pouring the sauce over it.
