How to Caramelize Apples

  • 8 to 10 apples (any type)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Prep work..

I usually buy gala Apples but any type of apple will work.

The apples are then peeled, cored and then quartered.

Put the apples in a large pan and then add the sugar and butter at high heat.  let the butter and sugar melt.

After 5 minutes you will need to rotate the apples so they are caramelized evenly.  Turn the heat to medium and keep rotating the apples until they are evenly brown.   It takes about about 20 minutes or so for the sugar to turned to caramel and the apples to soften to the correct consistency.
