Sunflower tart (Mango tart)- 3/15/08
Mangos are in season right now! They are so sweet, flavorful and perfectly ripe to use to make a tart.
The tart looks just like a sunflower and the color is just gorgeous!
This tart turn out to be so delicious! The crème pâtissière consistency was just perfect, and the flavor of the Mango is just wonderful.

Preparation work..
It takes only a few minutes to create the dough by using a food processor. |
Here is the base of the tart once it is baked. |
Crème pâtissière is chilled and ready to be used |
I am filling the tart with the crème pâtissière |
The mango is peeled and sliced into thin slices to resemble sunflower petals |
The Mango's slices are then arranged on top of the crème pâtissière. |
A few blueberries are put in the middle to resemble the seeds of a sun flower. All I need to do next is to brush the tart with a nice layer of Apricot jam so it has a nice sheen. The tart is put back in the refrigerator and it is best eaten cold. |
