Turtle Bar- 12/20/08

I am not sure why this is called a turtle bar? Perhaps the combination of chocolate, caramel and pecan is called a Turtle bar!

Anyway, the crust is made is brownies topped with caramel, toasted pecan and drizzled with chocolate.

This looks really good with the caramel dripping.

When it is ready to served the cake is then cut into small squares.

Preparation work..

I cheated a little by using a store bough brownies mix.

I just followed the instructions on the box by mixing the dry ingredients with eggs, water an oil.

The mixture is then poured in pan for baking.

Here I am making the caramel sauce by heating sugar and water.

The sugar turned into an amber color..

Next cream is added to to the pan

The caramel sauce is bubbling ..

Next the toasted pecans are added to the caramel sauce.

The brownies cake  out of the oven and on a cooler rack

Here I am pouring the caramel sauce with the toasted pecan on to the cake

Now I am just letting it whole thing cooled down a bit...

The last step is to drizzle some chocolate on top of the cake.

My next dessert is Almond cake.
