The food

Tonight the theme for the food is served popular dishes.

On the menu I have totally insane truffle soup that was served at my Holidays party back in 12/09.  The soup was an instant hit and I have a few "encore requests"

The soup takes a long time to prepare but the end result is worth the effort. This soup is rich, creamy and the flavor is so satisfying.

The last time I served this soup I made a foam on top of it but this time I just left it out to make it a bit simpler.  It is still delicious without the foam.

The second course is Ratatouille served with BBQ Lamb or chicken.

Everyone in the group love ratatouille so it is incorporated in the menu.   However, I needed to serve the ratatouille with some kind of meat so I thought the BBQ lamb that Maily served for Phuc's and Nicky's Birthday party was so popular that I decided to duplicate it by asking Maily for the recipe.

Hoa cooked the meat perfectly and the Lamb goes so well with the ratatouille.

The kids really enjoy this dish too.

The 3rd and last course I wanted something new, something that was never served before so I decided to make a braised rabbit with tomatoes and mushrooms..

For those of you who never have rabbit before, the rabbit meat has a mild taste close to chicken but of course it is not the same..  A few of us were afraid that the rabbit is going to be gamy but their meat is actually pretty tasty.  We all agreed that the braised rabbit was pretty good.  Rabbit is one of those dish that you only cook once in a while just because rabbit is not that popular.

Close look the rabbit stew.
