Day 1-Wednesday Day 2- Thursday Day 3 - Friday Day 4- Saturday

Day 2- Chelsa Market

Chelsea Market is an enclosed urban food court, shopping mall, office building and television production facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood, just around the corner from Morimoto's. Built in the former National Biscuit Company factory complex where the Oreo cookie was invented and produced. In addition to the retail concourse in the structure east of 10th Avenue, it also provides standard office space for tenants, including media and broadcasting companies such as Oxygen Network, Food Network, and many more.  Recently, Google has moved into some of the second and fourth floors.

We got there around 9:30/10:00Pm and the place is pretty much deserted so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Bakers making bread for the next day...

It was interesting to see the bakers working together....

They have about 10 people working...They produce lots of breads and pastries.

We came a bit too late so most of the stores were already close but the place is very interesting to look at.

The building has lots of characters..

The complex was built between 1890 and the mid 1930s. The original flooring was kept intact and it really show the passage of time.

Interesting that they carve out a large door way out of existing brick walls to make it a continuous walk way...

Pictures on the wall of New Yorker back in the days.

Uncle Larry sitting on a stone chair...

Not sure what it is but it looks interesting.

Boxes and posters of biscuits, crackers back then..

Companies that are located in this building - Check out Food Network.  They filmed Iron Chef upstairs in this building.
