Day 2-Polignano a Mare, Italy - 09-17-2023

Old town and the coast line

Polignano a Mare is perched on the edge of high cliff rising from the Adriatic sea and from the old town you can walk through the small alleys leading you the edge of town with a view of the coast line.

Small alley with great view of the coast line ahead.

Panoramic view of the coast line from one of the balcony in the old town.

From the balcony on the edge of town the view is fantastic with clear crystal blue sea against the whitewashed housed on top of the cliff.

Simply gorgeous background.

If you look below the cliff you can see caves that the sea has created with the force of its waves.

The limestone cliff is about 65 ft. high above the sea.

Polignano a mare is renowned for its stunning coastline dotted with gorgeous beaches and dramatic cliffs that drop in to the blue crystal sea..

Such a beautiful day to enjoy a boat ride.

A boat sailing into the cave.

We are now walking through a maze of small alleys in the old town.

A nice little courtyard.

Another alley leading to the view of the coast line.

Whitewashed buildings facing the sea.

It is really magnificent view from up here.

We are now reaching the most famous beach in Polignano a mare: Lama Monachile.

The beach is about 130 ft. wide and is made entirely of white pebbles.

View of the beach from one of the balcony from the old town.

It is small public beach and is enclosed between two rocky walls and is probably the most photographed spot on the Apulian coast.

The water is very clear.

Beautiful day in September to go to the beach.

On the left you can see a guy jumping down from the cliff above and on the right is a splash of water when he hits the water.

We are now leaving the old town

Back to the Palazzo dell'Orologio.

Street just outside the old town.

It is really beautiful around here.

NEXT... Dinner at Biancofiore
