The set up Appetizers Dinner Desserts Gathering The kids Behind the scene

Desserts

Dinner is now behind us and the Desserts are coming up.  I don't know about you, but for me, I am always looking for something sweet after a meal.   You know what I am talking about, don't you?   The craving for something sweet that lingers on, a meal not quite complete without desserts.  For me, dessert does not have to be something elegant, ore even elaborate, all I needed is just few bites, washing it down with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and voila, I am satisfied!  The meal is finally complete and I can move on the other things...

Desserts are taken out of the fridge and sitting on the kitchen table waiting be taken out.

I made a Berry Cake, a Candied Kumquats cake and two fruits tarts.

Tin Tin could not believe I baked the tarts and the cakes.

Hanh made brought a large and colorful platter of fruits.

Chi Lien brought some Che (in the bucket) and Dung made a large bowl of Che Chua (banana, coconut and pudding sweet mixture).

I also set up a chocolate fountain for the kids. This is another hit with the kids!  They were mesmerized with the fountain and simply loved to dip the fruits into the chocolate.

Now that all the desserts are set up, I gather everyone and make a small announcement ...Surprise, surprise tonight we are celebration my aunt 60th birthday!

Here she is... The star of the evening!

We all started to sing "Happy Birthday", pictures were taken, people were clapping!  I was a fun moment.

Here she is waiting for all us to finish singing so she can blow the candles.

Time to blow out the candles.  Happy Birthday!

The candles are almost blown! A few more seconds and it will be over... then I went ahead I made the second announcement....

The second surprise of the evening is Lan Huong's birthday (the next day).

She was really surprisedLan Huong had no clue I knew her birthday was coming up!

Again, we all sang Happy birthday!  We all know that Lan Huong just loves Diamond!

I hear a few jokes, all about getting diamonds for her birthday!
