Day 2 - Welcome dinner, The food

Before getting the food, Dung gave a welcome speech!

Employees and friends listen to Dung's speech.

Then Sammy, the trip coordinator gave the signal for the kids to get in line and get the food.

Without further much ado... here are the kids surrounding the buffet table.

There was so much food ... and the kids can really eat.

This is only part of the buffet table.

Poke is a raw fish salad served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine. This is the seafood section....

The line for the food.

The hotel did a really nice job with the food and they also did a wonderful job at displaying the food.

Food galore...

Roasted Chicken

Steamed local fish with vegetables.

Roasted Yam, sweet potatoes and purple potatoes.

Egg noodles sautéed with vegetables.

Braised short ribs with pearl onions.  The short ribs were tasty and the meat was falling off the bone... YUM!

Hawaii specialty: shredded pork.

It was also very good.

Dung and his friends from L.A.

Guests enjoying their food...

Waiting for our turn to get the food...

Singer with guitar to provide music in the background to entertain us during our meal.

Gradually, the sun is setting in the horizon and I really enjoy watching it.  It is not very often we get to watch the sun set while eating dinner.

Our table...

It was so windy! take a look at the trees and see how the leaves are being blown upward.

After many requests, Minh decided to dedicate a song for Dung.

Too bad the picture is blurry!

Dung  went up and gave Minh's flower as a joke!
