Day 5- Stroll, Faro-5/15/2022

Our dinner reservation is at 9:00pm so we decided to walk around to places we have not been before in the old town.

We are on the Jardim de Ferreira de Almeida located in the city center of Faro.

It is a small square, very clean with lots of restaurants around.

This street is really cute and it is lined with restaurants.

All of the restaurants have outdoor seating which is really nice when the weather is warm.

We saw Seven Cuts restaurants which is steak house.  Looks really nice but we will not have steaks when we travel.
We usually try to have local food.

More and more restaurants on the same street.

A restaurant with a nice terrace.

Most of the restaurants are full of people.  Looks too touristy for us.

We kept walking toward the Marina.

The Marina

Lots of boats docking in the Marina.

The old town is in the back.

This bride is the meeting point for boat tour.  We will be taking a tour tomorrow and we wanted to make sure we knew where the meeting point is.

View of the Rio Formosa (Beautiful Lagoon).

View on the right of the bridge.

View on the left of the bridge leading to the Old town.

This is high tide as the water is filling up to the shore.

We are headed toward Praça Dom Francisco Gomes

This is a sunset bar.

How cute is this? Colorful table outside for customers.

Cathedral of Saint Mary with a large square lined with orange trees in the far back.

The cathedral was consecrated in the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the late 13th century by the Archbishop of Braga. It has been the seat of the Diocese of Faro since 1540. The cathedral is a National Monument of Portugal.

Here you can see the orange trees on the Cathedral square.

Close view of the oranges.

We still have a lot of time so we stopped by  O'Corelo a restaurant/Bar next to the Marina.

Cocktail time before dinner.

Hoa is enjoying his Negroni and for me just a coke.

The cafe has musicians performing live to entertain their customers.

We sat there until 8:45Pm and we headed to restaurant for dinner.

NEXT.... Day 5-Dinner at PIgs and Cows
