Day  7- Sung sot cave continuation & sailing-12/27/2023

We are now exiting the cave.

Lookout area right after the exit of the cave.

View of the bay from the lookout.

Lots of boats in the area.

Stairs leading to the pier where our boat is docked.

Gorgeous view as we are leaving the cave.

Branches growing out of the hanging over the stairs.  We had to bend down to pass it.

Another gorgeous lookout area on the way to the pier.

Really nice walkway next to the water and mountains.

View from the walkway over the entrance of the cave.

Heading to catch the small boat that will take us to the main boat.

We are now leaving the bay.

Amazing scenery thanks to the magnificent rock formations that dominate the landscape.

We are headed to the main deck to enjoy the end of our journey on this boat.

View of the bay from the upper deck of the boat.

The formation of Halong Bay dates to over 500 million years ago. Over time the bay has gone through countless changes resulting in the magnificent natural wonder we have today.

Beautiful day with the sun shining above.

According to researchers and respected geologists, the Halong bay we see now was formed roughly 8,000 years ago. Halong Bay and the surrounding area are made up of mainly of thick limestone, just like the famous limestone karsts that can be seen sprouting majestically throughout the bay.

Loan and Minh enjoying a quiet moment....

Hoa having a great time on the upper deck.

It was peaceful watching the beauty of the bay.

A local typical small fishing boat on the bay.

We have now reached the Tuan Chau Pier.

We are now ready to disembark.

Time on the boat is over and it is time to leave..

Tuan Chau Pier.

The pier

The boat we were on.

The cruise is over and a van will pick us up and will drive us back to Hanoi.

I really enjoyed our trip a Halong Bay and I have to say that the cruise surpassed my expectation.  The food was really good, excellent service, and the bay was an amazing sight.

NEXT... Ta Hien Street & cocktails
