Hoi An is synonymous with lanterns, a unique symbol of the ancient town’s beauty. With over 400 years of tradition, Hoi An lanterns are crafted from bamboo frames wrapped in vibrant silk in vibrant colors like red, yellow, blue etc...

Very pleasant to walk around in the evening along lantern-lit streets,
We are headed to Hoai River
Hoai River is a picturesque waterway that winds its
way through the heart of Hoi An Ancient Town. A branch of the Thu Bon River,
it holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike,
symbolizing the timeless charm and rich heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage
site.
The Hoai river flows through Hoi An and is an
inseparable symbol of the ancient town. It is deeply intertwined with the
lives of Hoi An residents, many of whom make their living by rowing boats and
taking tourists on scenic tours.
A Hoi An boat ride cost around 50,000 VND ($2) for a 30-minute tour, and for larger groups, it is about 100,000 VND ($4).
The boats are non-motorized, letting you soak in the
ancient, serene atmosphere of Hoi An.
Bridge linking the two shores of the river.
Panoramic view of the river and the old town on the shore.
Resting area not too far from the river.
At night time the old town is magical with all the colorful lanterns.
Lots of restaurants and coffee shops in the old quarter.
The iconic Hoi An yellow walls.
Hundreds of Hoi An’s old houses, either traditionally
designed or influenced by Chinese or French architecture, are painted in
vibrant shades of yellow, often complemented by green shutters and draped with
bougainvillea. These yellow walls are not only charming, they also symbolize
prosperity and good fortune, blending perfectly with the tropical climate to
remain well-preserved for hundreds of years.
