Sunset boat tour
|
|
We did not decide to do a boat tour until yesterday and most of the tickets are sold out so the only thing available was a sunset boat tour.
Meeting point is at the Marina in Riomaggiore.
|
|
The Marina is too shallot for big boats to come in so they just load like 4 people to a small boat and then they dropped us to a big boat.
The sun is mid way down...
We are now leaving the Marina.
View of Riomaggiore from our boat.
We are bit farther into to sea and Riomaggiore is getting smaller in the distance.
Sailing away...
We are now far away from Riomaggiore.
Sailing further away....
The sun is starting to descent slowly.
We are now approaching Manorala, the 2nd village.
Getting closer to Manorala.
Close view of the town from our boat.
Manorala is built on a high rock 230 ft.s above sea level. The village is from the bottom of the rock to the top of the rock with steep narrow alleys leading to the sea.
We are now sailing away from Manorala
Manorala in the distance...
Moving along to the 3rd village.
We get to see the sun going down as we are sailing away...
Corniglia is on top of the rocky mountain.
We are approaching Corniglia. which is rising on top of a rock promontory.
Getting closer to Corniglia.
As you can see Corniglia town does not have direct access to the sea. All the houses are high above.
We are now sailing toward Vernazza, the 4th village.
We are approaching Vernazza.
On top of the rock is the Tower of the castle of Vernazza.
The marina and port is on the left.
Vernazza is the only natural port in Cinque Terre.
We are entering the Marina.
This is the Marinar with the main square next to it.
We stopped here for a few minutes to enjoy the vista.
We are now sailing away back to Riomaggiore.
The sun setting in the distance.
Our boat stopped to give people a chance to swim and to enjoy the sun set.
Everyone swam, we were the only two people that did not take a dip. Too cold for me anyway.
All of them were swimming while we just enjoyed the view.
The sun is finally setting in the distance. What a great view.
We are now returning back to Riomaggiore.
NEXT.... Day 7-Dinner at Dau Cilau
